Cafe U.K. Co part2 and Isaw Republic Rave

I know my first ever blog was from Cafe U.K. Co. and my experience then was worth repeating. Me and my sister decided to drop by since i promised to treat her out to cake and tea. This time we chose somethingnew and I'm pretty happy to see that unlike the first time we visited, their cake stock has variety now. Checking their IG page before we headed to their shop, I noticed that Kris TV featured them and aired the episode just last March 4. I hope it helped boost their sales up :) I also took a mental note that Kris Aquino particularly enjoyed their Strawberry Cheesecake out of all the cakes presented to her so i ordered that with Honeydew tea. My sister on the other hand was looking forward to a slice of Ferrero Rocher cake but alas, they had none that day so she opted to try their equally famous Amaretto chocolate cake and Pepermint tea.

We had to wait for about 10 minutes before our orders were completely served. No worries because they have free wifi with a pretty decent signal. My drink was supposed to be served first but the waiter serving it spilled it while climbing the stairs. Nevertheless, they made the second drink ASAP and served it to me in no time. Only problem is that the drink was served with chewy pearls but they gave me a slim straw. But the staff were prompt in addressing the issue so no biggie :) My sister's Peppermint tea came in next and lastly our cakes. Compared to my Strawberry cheesecake slice, the Amaretto chocolate cake is huge. And as I recall correctly, they use the same plating design to all of their cheesecakes and cakes (pls. see my previous post about Cafe U.K. to know more). A mouthful of their cheesecake is so sinful. It is creamy and light and you know immediately that it is expertly made. I like the base of the cheesecake. I think this is one of the most neglected part of a cake. This cheesecake's base is firm and has its own sweetness and it adds to the burst of flavors of the cheese, strawberry and the cream. I also got to try my sister's Amaretto cake and it was really good! It reminded me of dark cocoa in one bite. When these cakes were served my first impression was that I can gobble up my share in no time but boy was I wrong. Neither one of us finished their share even their drinks! It was again, that filling. And mind you, we didn't eat dinner that night :p
So folks, my verdict is still the same. I would definitely go back and eat and judge the remaining cakes and pastries served there. I heard they also sell cupcakes. Another reason to go back and indulge :)

On the way home, we stopped by Isaw Republic. I was thinking how full I already am when the smell of freshly grilled Isaw caught me off guard. We decided to give it a try since my sister was raving about their unique "Sweet Vinegar" which really compliments their food. We ordered Chicken gizzard (Isaw), Betamax, and Inihaw na Chicharong Bulaklak. Our order came after 5 minutes or so. My sister taught me how to eat them properly. Seeing as they gave us a bowl of "Sweet Vinegar" for dipping, my sister removed all the meat from the stick and marinated them in the vinegar concoction. My first impression when I tasted the Isaw was, "Ang sarap!". Take my word. My tummy immediately found space to let in these yummy treats. I was thinking of my bf then and on how he would have loved to eat those. I believe they still have many grilled options to choose from and the customers are also raving about their awesome but cheap shakes. So, If you are around P.Noval, you can easily find this stall at DelosReyes Street. Go there at night and see for yourself the customers they have gathered. If you're lucky you can take a seat and enjoy the night with friends while eating.

Till next time!
